Senior Officer Seminar 2016
Unix Line Senior Officers Seminar was held in Singapore from 21 to 23 July 2016. Total 43 Master and Chief Engineers from four different manning pools (namely Korea, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Philippines) attended the seminar.
Interactive topics covered during the seminar were: Navigation Safety; Cargo Operations; Technical Maintenance; Crew Injury; Emergency Response, Leadership & Management. Port Captains from United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Netherlands and China presented special requirements and operational issues applicable to their respective regions.
In addition, experts from Tokio Marine Insurance shared their expertise on Insurance and P & I Matters. Experts from MTI Network shared their expertise on Media Handling, precautions to be taken before posting in online social media and practical demonstration on media/journalist handling.
On the final day, all participants and several Unix personnel joined team building event. Team building event traversed from Fullerton Hotel through Marina Bay all the way to Marina Barrage.
Overall, the seminar was a great event to exchange ideas, share experience and open & friendly discussion among participants from various nationalities, Unix office personnel and representatives from offices around the globe. Presentation material will be sent by email to the participants. Plans also exist to host selected issues and outcomes in the e-learning module.
